The Carissade School is a primary
school operated by the Catholic faith
community in Carissade, Haiti.
The school is funded through a partnership
between the Cathedral of the Sacred
Heart and St. Bridget Church, both
of Richmond, Virginia. Occasionally,
other churches provide financial assistance
through the partnership.
Presently, St Paul Church is
assisting in the support of selected
projects.
This is the only school available
to the Carissade children.
Their parents, with cash incomes
well below one dollar per day per
adult from their farms, cannot
afford the cost of the education.
Through the generous support of our
parishioners and friends, the
partnership is able to cover the
school's capital and operating
expense.
Although the education is tuition
free, parents must supply a school
uniform and give up the labor of
their children on the family farms.
Within the context of Haitian
agrarian economics, these are
substantial contributions by the
parents which underscores their
commitment to education.

information about the Carissade
School. Your donation assures
the continuation of the school.
